How do I book a tour?
It’s easy! I would suggest you to write me an email first (if I am doing a tour I will not answer at the phone!) and send me your plans. I will do my very best to reply you asap. Because it is just me and I do not have a team of assistants, it might be not so immediate. I will personally take care of your requests and some of them require more time and attention.

Where does the tour start? Is there a meeting point?
There is not a fixed meeting point. If you are staying in Lucca, inside the wall or just outside, I can come to meet you at your accommodation (hotel,B&B, apartment) . If you are coming to Lucca for the day by train/bus or by car I will be at the station or we will agree a place i.e a city gate/parking.

We will arrive by car in Lucca. Where can we park?
Parking inside the city is very restricted because parking in the center is for residents only. Be careful on this note because the historical zone cameras will identify your vehicle and issue a fine. There are some metered parkings (blue lines) but if you are going to stay one day or more I suggest you to avoid the centre. There are 2 free big parking areas near the walls. Both are easy to reach from the highway. Take the Lucca Est exit. One parking lot is located on the north side of the city, type on your GPS for Piazzale Don Franco Baroni or to go the other one, the address is Via dei Pubblici Macelli.

When does the tour run?
Most of the tours and activities are always available. Tell me what works best for you: morning, afternoon and why not in the evening? Lucca is magic under the stars!

Will you do the tour in case of rain?
Yes, the tour will happen even if it rains, just bring your umbrellas and rain ponchos. We might decide to adjust the itinerary according to the weather…maybe visit a museum or a palace to stay dry or have a hot chocolate to warm up!

Do you arrange tour for small groups? What about large groups?
My tours are generally designed for private individuals and small groups so that they can run smoothly. In case you are a big group (+20/25 people) feel free to contact me and I will be pleased to create an itinerary for you, maybe with the help of another guide or the rental of personal headset/whispers.

I am a single traveler/ We are a couple on a limited budget but we would like to do one of your tours. What can we do?
You can still contact me and ask me what’s available, because if you do not mind to share, there might be other visitors out there looking for the same thing.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
I usually do not require a deposit, but if you book more than one tour or service from my partners I might ask you a small sum of money to secure it. You can send it by Paypal. It charges a fee of 4% which will be added to your invoice.

How can I pay the tour?
I accept cash payment (Euro only) on the day of the tour.

Is there a cancellation policy?
I am a full time tour guide and my job is mainly seasonal, if you do not show up for the tour, I will lose an opportunity and during the high season I might have refused other tours to be with you. If you can cancel within 48 hours before the start of the tour your deposit will not be refunded.

I have booked a tour, but I need to change the date/time, is it possible?
The earlier you will let me know, the best I will do to satisfy your requests.

Do you provide transportation? Do you organize shore excursions?
Yes, I can arrange a private car/bus driver to come to pick you up at your accommodation or at the Livorno/La Spezia port. I work with professional English speaking drivers and their vehicles are fully air conditioned, clean and modern.

I walk slowly and not long distances; can I still do a Lucca city tour?
Of course, you can. Good news is that Lucca is flat and most of the monuments are walking distance. We can stop here and there on, sit a bench or in a bar for a delicious cappuccino and then hit the road again! Last but not least if you like to add a romantic touch, we can do the tour carried by a horse carriage!

Do you organize wine tasting tour around Lucca/Tuscany?
Yes! If you have a short time an aperitivo [drinks with food] can be done in an ancient cellar in town, instead if time allows you can visit the several wineries in the Lucca surroundings or in the famous Chianti area. I always strongly suggest to have a driver for this tour. Some places are hard to find, almost impossible by public transport and last but not least your safety on the way back. So you can fully enjoy the experience!
